FAQ – NZ Freight Jobs and Freight Finder
Who can bid on NZ freight jobs listed?
Members who have registered can bid.
There is a one time only, free credit given to new members of NZ$10 by Freight Finder to allow new
members to trial our service.
If the bid is accepted then the success fee will be deducted from the members account.
Is the site restricted to New Zealand freight forwarding jobs only?
Yes, currently we only accept freight forwarding jobs across New Zealand.
Who can list Freight Jobs?
Anyone who registers as a Freight Finder member can list and bid on jobs.
How do I become a member of Freight Finder?
Click on the register tab and fill out the form.
How long will it take to become a Freight Finder member?
Effective immediately after filling out the online form.
Is it free to list a freight job?
Yes, totally free to list a freight job. There is only a fee if the job is successfully let.
I own a small trucking company and have been asked by a long term customer to take a load from Auckland
to Palmerston North from Auckland. I will have no load to bring back so I don’t want to do the run. What do
you advise?
You can either look for a return load on Freight Finder OR
List it on Freight Finder and find someone who will use your load on a return trip, and you can keep your
customer and fulfill his needs.
Who pays the success Fee?
The Success fee is paid by the person/company that listed the freight job.
How do I pay the success fee?
The success fee will automatically be deducted from your account at Freight Finder.
How do I credit my account at Freight Finder?
Currently, you can top up your account with your Credit Card.
How will I keep track of my account?
Keep track of your account through the my account page.
I listed my job but no one bid on it?
Was it well described? Was it under the right category eg if it was a container make sure it wasn't listed under
livestock. When you list a job you are asked to put in a start price. Did you start with a reasonable price?
Truckies will generally bid when the start price is realistic.
How do I know that the freight company that won my freight job is any good?
Each member is issued with a Feedback rating. After each job we ask in an auto email that both parties rate
how successful the freight job was.
Members who strive to have no adverse feedback will usually get the most acceptance.
I have a long term contract that I wish to advertise - can I place it on Freight Finder?
Yes you can but Freight Finder is a large website with small returns. We ask that members who gain large
jobs through us contact our sales team and work out a reasonable commission for all parties so that it is
viable for Freight Finder to continue providing this excellent service.
Who owns Freight Finder Ltd?
Freight Finder is a wholly NZ owned company. New Zealander CEO Davey Smith has over 20 years in the
engineering and IT business and this site follows the success in other IT projects in New Zealand and
Australia.
